Despite the slowdown in transit service caused by the continuation of the pandemic, there is a notable pickup in the incidence of collisions and security-related events in Público service and their shared-use facilities.

Safety incidents took place in San Juan (1), Bayamón (1), Arecibo (1), Ponce (1), Quebradillas (1), Naranjito (1), Hormigueros (1) and Mayagüez (3). Of particular note, one of the incidents in San Juan involved two Públicos traveling southbound on Muñoz Rivera Avenue where one of the vehicles encroached into the travel lane of the other, causing a side impact. In Ponce, the collision was caused by a Público (Ponce – Victoria, Morell Campos) and resulted in a minor injury of the driver of the rear-ended vehicle.

These incidents are coupled with a personal security incident (suicide attempt) at the Valenciano Aulet terminal in Manatí.
